Freshly released and belonging to a small group of genuinely interesting movie featurettes, “Leap of Faith” documents the real life recreation of the titular leap.
The Assassin’s Creed Franchise, at least in my mind – and perhaps the sales figures back this up – has faced waning interest as of late. I myself lost a lot of interest after the excellent “Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag” was released, and I realised that interesting cities took greater focus than interesting stories. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the little love story in Unity, but felt as a whole, it/ and Syndicate didn’t really advance the mythology in any great spans, and instead fed us piecemeal whilst we traipsed around another well realised open world.
Anyway, despite all of that, I find myself highly interested in the new film. Mainly because of the setting, partly because I have an unusual man-crush on Michael Fassbender, and slightly because there’s a small glimmer of hope deep in my heart that thinks Assassin’s Creed might get it’s arse in gear and get back to the dizzying heights of the Ezio trilogy. I miss Ezio.
